The Youth at Liberty are very fortunate to have great Youth Sponsors.  The Youth Sponsors have been creative this year (2009) planning new opportunities for the youth.  Some of what happened included a Youth Kick Off, a 5th Quarter, Ice Skating (Jan. 17, 2010), Canoe Trip, Dairy Queen Nights, a 7 day Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic, Youth Groups in many homes, Rainbow Kids, Vacation Bible School, Jeff Higginson Band Concert, Christmas Parties, Progressive Dinner, Silly Supper, Whiffle Ball Night, Fishing Tournaments, Christmas Caroling, Annual New Year's Lock In and a Service Project Night with the goal to find people and buy their meal at a food restaurant or pay for their gas.  Many of our youth attended Church Camp as a camper or as part of the faculty at Bond Christian Camp.  There were four Youth Sundays when the Youth led or helped to lead the worship service.  Many of our Youth have stepped up this past year to help during Sunday morning by leading the worship service either singing or playing an instrument, working in the nursery, running power point or greeting people as they come in to worship.

The responsibility of leading our Youth is very important.  Our goal is that our Youth will give their lives to Jesus and make Him the boss of their life every day.  Let us continue to help teach our youth how to serve in the church and to be the Christian examples to others outside of the church they need to be.

Youth Groups for Pre K through High School starting in September

September 13 at 6:00 will be the first youth group for this fall.  Come dressed to play whiffle ball outside (weather permitting) or in the gym.  There will be some Sundays when all the youth groups will participate in the same event (ice skating, bowling, silly supper, etc.) and other Sundays when each youth group will have their own event (meet in their classroom, meet in homes, make your own pizza night, service projects, progressive dinner, etc.).

Sponsors so far for this year are Kyle & Stefanie Anderson, Kara Barker, Dana Dann, Jacy Schaub, Aaron & Chelsie Miller, Linda Doehring, Elvera Robison, Lisa Smith and Sherri Beckel.

From Me To Youth (May)

April is over and May has arrived...you are heading down the home stretch to summer vacation.  What are your plans? Proverbs 10:4 says "Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth."  This scripture may be referencing financial prosperity, but more importantly it is referencing spiritual wealth.  Everyday has 24 hours filled with opportunities to grow, serve and be productive.  It is so easy to waste time, letting life slip from our grasp especially time we refer to as "summer vacation".  Refuse to be a lazy person, sleeping, or wasting away the hours meant for productive work.  See time as God's gift and seize your opportunities to live for Him.

"The only way to get to the top is to get off your bottom!"

From Me To Youth (April)

I would like to discuss the importance of the upcoming youth fundraisers for this summer's trip to the Dominican Republic on July 28-August 4.

Last year the youth attended a 5 day life-changing event focused on truth, worship, and community at Christ-In-Youth in Carbondale.  You (our church family) made that happen for us through your generous donations and contributions.  Again this year we are asking for your financial support.  In addition to the "Coin War" that is going on now, we will be having our second youth auction on May 3 directly after church in the fellowship hall.  We will be serving a Dominican style meal and auctioning off our youth.  The auction will consist of bidding on 8 hours of work from each youth going on the trip.  In addition to the youth auction, the winning class for the Coin Wars will be announced.  Last year we had a great time, and I'm sure this year will not disappoint.  We are looking forward to seeing you there!
